Job Title: Group Finance Manager 

Purpose of the job

This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional to join a dynamic retail butcher business. We are looking for a CA(SA) who is not only technically strong but can also get involved from an operational and strategic perspective to take on all-important role of Group Financial Manager. The Group Financial Manager will provide support, direction, and management to the accounting team. You will play a key role in ensuring the financial health of the company, providing insights and analysis to support informed decision-making. While you'll have the core responsibilities of a finance manager, you'll also gain valuable experience in the retail butcher industry.

Financial Reporting

  • Monthly Consolidated Management Accounts: Prepare and analyse monthly consolidated management accounts, including variance analysis and comprehensive commentary.
  • Monthly Financial Review: Collaborate with the Directors to review monthly financial results.
  • Weekly Financial-Operational Report: Present a detailed weekly Financial-Operational report.
  • Annual Consolidation Pack: Prepare the annual consolidation pack.
  • Annual Financial Statements: Draft annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS Accounting Standards.

Budgets

  • Annual Budget Management: Oversee the annual budget process.
  • Forecast Updates: Ensure all forecasts are regularly updated.
  • Budget Presentations: Present Capex budgets and project budget reports.
  • Overall responsibility of coordinating and driving the budgeting process.
  • Preparing the final budget submissions in conjunction with the management team.

Taxation

  • Statutory Submissions: Handle all statutory submissions, including VAT, EMP, income tax, provisional tax, and more.

Cash Flow

  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage the group's cash flows.
  • Payment Oversight: Review and approve payments, including EFTs.

Qualification:

  • CA(SA) nonnegotiable.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience gained within Retail, Meat, or Manufacturing Industry.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Time management.
  • People-centric.
  • Strong IFRS Accounting Standards experience, including group consolidations.
  • South African Income Tax and VAT.
