Job Title:
Industrial Heat Pump/ Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Ireland - hybrid working model (work from offices when required, otherwise work remotely)

Working Hours: Full-Time (Mon - Fri)

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heat pump/Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial heat pump systems, ensuring their optimal performance. As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the heat pump and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair various types of water-to-water heat pump systems
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems, identifying the root cause and implementing effective repair solutions
  • Perform regular servicing of equipment to maximize efficiency and prevent breakdowns
  • Monitor and maintain refrigerant levels and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate installation projects and ensure timely completion
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies in refrigeration systems
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • Inspect and maintain large solar PV systems

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a chiller/refrigeration Engineer or similar role
  • Experience with water-to-water chillers or heat pumps
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems and components
  • Familiarity with various types of refrigerants and their properties
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration system malfunctions
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Valid refrigeration engineer license/certification
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments and conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience
  • Prior experience working in the industrial or commercial refrigeration sector
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable refrigeration practices
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
